We used to eat great dim sum when we lived in Calgary and Brisbane. The former in "China Town" with the latter in a "mall" as malls go in Brisbane. Can't recall the names. Of course, in the earlier days it was San Francisco...

Unfortunately most of the time to get authentic "Chinese" you need to venture into Liberal Enclaves both States and Cities.

This is true. Last time I had it was when bride and I were visiting friends in Los Angeles. Probably 15 years ago.

Ed, did you ever go to China Town, in Fortitude Valley ?

Other side of the city from where you lived, but well worth it.

Amazing, authentic food.

Oh my, the Peking Duck !

yes, but i usually do that when the weather turns cooler, it helps the pasta dry out well. wouldn't want to do it in the heat/humidity. i'll be starting up again soon.

That's a tasty looking unique combo I haven't seen before.

Now I have to get me some of that everything topping.

it seems every time i go to Panera's or Einstein's, or a NY style bagel place i gravitate toward the 'everything bagel'...used to be strictly sesame seed...but those are my go-to...everything bagel seasoning is great, and there are recipes out there to make it at home, 4 ingredients

As a District Manager for Target Corp back in the mid 90's I'd eat a Noah's Everything or Onion Bagel two or three days a week traveling between stores.

Tomato basil as well.
