It goes without saying that small errors with small cases can cause big problems!

I was testing some loads this morning - 90 gr. Speers with a few powders that I had not previously used. I fired off some min loads, and thought they were a little fast - 2482, 2501 fps. etc. I won't bore you with the in between loads, but here is what happened with the maximum loads.

Oh my! So I stopped shooting these. I had posted on another thread that my Lyman digital was out of whack and could not be calibrated. I pulled five bullets and weighed the powder with my Ohaus. It was supposed to be 23.7 grains.. They all weighed 24.1 or 24.2 gr. Oh...

I was testing 6x45mm loads with small cases. That 0.4/0.5 grain difference raised the pressure from approx. 54000 psi to 58900 psi. Cratered and pierced primers. Ouch.

I have a bunch of bullets to pull now. laugh
