I would strongly recommend the Minox 8x42 APO HG. I am very pleased with mine. Definitely alpha-quality glass at a "reasonable" price. Probably half the cost of new Swaros. I refuse to spend 2.5-3.5K + on glass. + I purchased mine used from a forum member so I saved even more cash.

When deciding on an 8x42, the other contenders were the MeoStar, MeoPro HD, and the Tract. My second choice, under the Minox 8x42 APO HG, was the MeoPro HDs.

Tract Toric UHD is at least as good as anything on that list with the possible exception of the Meostar HD. It can be had for around $625 or so which will save you some money in the meantime.

Hunting bud has a the 8x42 meopro hd.

I’ve used them along side my older non hd Meostars.

I couldnt really see a difference, other than price.

Big Tract fan. I have a 8X42 and a 12.5X50. Excellent glass at a great price with a super warranty. Buy one, you get a 30 money back deal

Anybody compared the Tract Toric to the Maven B series? They've gotten high marks on Rokslide.

If you're talking about the Meostar HD, yes I have, and the optics are too close to call. I feel the Meopta is more robust and better built, but the Toric has great ergos except for the larger than avg eyecups, which can sometimes feel flimsy. Can't go wrong with either.

I’m really pleased with the Leica Trinovid HD that I got from Doug. Call him, he won’t steer you wrong. Happy Trails

A major issue in choosing bino's is the inability to actually try all these brands. Without doing that you rely on someone else's opinion or price
