It's been pretty damn obvious from the run panic the 1 st time Oblama ran that due to political instability caused by the thought of commiecrat gun haters in charge one needs to be prepared for themselve's. Since atleast 2008 and before really. When will people learn that the day has passed that you can buy what you want, when you want, for how how much you want to pay for it? And to add if it is even available anymore? If I used Remington factory ammo, I would buy every box I could get my hands on. No sympathy for anyone who let themselves be caught short. Mb

Most, not all, common ammo was sold out.
They HAD ammo for BIG cals, eg 7 WBY, 300 WBY, etc.

I have no clue what guns I might own 3 or even 6 months down the road. I watch the listings and jump on whatever strikes my fancy.

Yup and here is how it works a couple of springs back I went in to the local Cabelas and was checking out the used rack finding an almost new ss M7 with a 3x9 Sightron on it in 7mm SAUM $450 WITH HAGGLING $400 + tax. .no ammo in stock and could not get any thru their distribution system. Makes for a cheap buy. Next gunshow 33 once fired 300 saum brass $15. Next set of RCBS dies and shell holder $45. Found a gun shop with some Nosler Custom ammo expensive bought 1 box and no it don't shoot worth a damn fo $73 a box just damned expensive brass. Sometimes you just have to hunt like hell to find the stuff you need. Still shooting that 300 reformed into 7 saum. But when you can't work up to energy to hunt down what you need don't bitch because it's out there but you have to work to find it. 270 /30-06 etc. Is easy but no longer convenient to get if you are to lazy to stock up when it is easy. That is the way it is. MB

Makes me think a company making a bare budget side by side 12 gauge would sell all they could make.

Not sure how close you are to Eastern Ohio but I have some 270 Win if you can’t find any. I’d be happy to loan you enough to deer hunt with this fall.

Thank you that is very good of you. I actually just found 270 power points at Walmart this evening. They just got them in.

Just ordered another case of .270 today. About $1/round - not great, not terrible. I've got enough .270 to last for a while, enough 5.56 for multiple individual basic loads for my fiancee and I, and a good amount of 12-gauge. I'm shorter than I would like on .30-30, but my Marlins haven't been shot nearly as much as my other long guns lately.

This is the worst I've seen it. When .30-30 is nearly unavailable online at normal prices, things are bad. If you need anything, get it now, because there's no telling when it will be available next.

Was talking to my hunting buddy yesterday and mentioned the ammo run to him. He had no clue but he went to his basement and checked, said he has 6 rounds of 30-06 and 13 rounds of 300 savage. Said that will probably last him another decade,( and he wasn't exaggerating) but told me to grab him a box of 06 if I came across any. i bought him a blue box of 180s at the local store so id say he's good for the rest of his hunting career now, and we are only 36 years old.

Yes it is. Things are MUCH worse with all the Libtards, Marxist’s, Socialist, & Commies
coming out of the closet OR from under the cover.

I CAN’’T believe these things have become prevalent in the USA !!!

Neighbor told me about the 30/30 shortage several weeks ago, that one had me puzzled but I suppose the manufacturers are spending their machine time on high volume items and government contracts. I did find him two boxes of Core-Lokt at a small gunshop in a large beach town - guess there aren't many hunters in that town. For myself, I learned my lesson back in 1994 with Bill & Hillary's 1000% ammo tax, expiring primers, and tagnets in primers proposals. That rush on ammo and components taught me to always have adequate supplies of components and factory ammo. It is sparse around coastal NC in many shops, it comes in and goes out quickly.

Anyone with any sense would have picked up on this nonsense and done the same. Shortages since are just poor planning on the part of the guy that can’t find ammunition or components.

I started building a little inventory when Jimmy Carter was president......the “writing was on the wall” back then! Anyone “NOT” aware that this was inevitable......is simply “oblivious to the obvious”! memtb

That's ok, the gun means nothing to him. He'd probably hock those guns to you right now and go buy a plastic stock creedmoor because there's ammo on the shelf, buy two boxes of ammo for it and go kill a toad of a buck every other year with it for the next 10 years like he'll do with whatever gun he ends up using.

I load some CF rifle stuff and have boxes of the stuff I dont.

Shotgun? I hit three stores last week trying to find 20ga bird shells. All I could find was #8 target stuff or 3" $20 a box stuff.
Finally found some #5 for a somewhat decent price.

Glad I have a few 12's to shoot! 16ga was worse.
