Not sure what they're price is on them. One of the shops in my area has them for $335+tax. I have 2 of the vx 3's and 7 vx 3's. Seem to be bright and clear, more so than my older vx 3's. I think a guy could do a heck of a lot worse for the money.

I'd go w less mag if scoping a
Ruger .44

1-5x most likely. 2.5-8x if needing more.

I have the vx3i 3.5-10x 40mm on my steyr 3006.
Have not had it out hunting yet.
Horiz turret seems to not click as well as elevation one.
It adjusts correctly, just not as pronounced in feel.

My 760 in .35 rem wore and old 4x. Now its got a 2-7x.
I really like 1 to 2x on the low end in timber. Pref would be under 2x.

So proly put a 1-4x on it eventually. Find one at reasonable price. Worst case go new VX3i 1-5x.

The 2.5X8 would be my choice but the 3.5x10 is $100 bucks cheaper.

If you're a set-and-forget kinda guy, I'd say "go for it." If you don't like it you can always get at least most of your money back out of it and you'll satisfy that nagging need to find out for yourself.

Had one for a while. Worked fine, though I never “stressed” it with dialing or heavy recoil. Nice clear view. Bought it cheap and sold it here for most of what I paid. Don’t need any, but wouldn’t mind another if it worked as well. Still, the Burris scopes I’ve bought have also worked just fine for about half to two-thirds the price.

They're ok as a set and forget scope but Leupold needs to get with the program and use a quick focus eyepiece like the rest of the scope world uses. Personally based my my experience a Burris Fulfield II tracks better and the glass is almost as good for a lot less $$ plus focuses easier and faster.

I have a VX-3i 3.5-10 x 40 and have used it on a couple of rifles. I haven't done any dialing with it. So far it has worked fine.

I'm with ya on the 2.5-8. I prefer it for most of my rifle needs, but I can find the 3.5-10 much cheaper both new and used.

The new ones, are ABSOLUTE Fhuqking Dog Schit. Hint.

A "fast focus" eyepiece makes less than ZERO fhuqks. It's a set one time operation,on the diopter,to arrange reticle focus solely. The only time it would need changed,is if/when your eyesight changed, but THAT was fhuqking funny! Hint. LAUGHING!

I'd go Swiffer 1-6x 24mm HD Mil/Mil Illuminated and not because it has a fast focus eyepiece. The reticle is etched and speaks a language, the erector speaks too. It's FFP,so it all jives,no matter where you are in the zoom ratio. The Illumination is KILLER and the extry battery compartment exceptional. 10 Mil's per revolution in 1/10 Mil graduations,so it gets no better. Hint.

Turrets can be ran capped, nekked or with thread protector. Hint.

Reupold isn't even in the same Universe, let alone Planet. Hint.

Thank me later.

Just sayin'....................

What's the difference between VX 3's vs VX 3's vs VX 3's.

Or are you conflating Vari X III's with VX III's with VX 3's with VX 3i's.........?

I have a 1.5 x 5 on my 77/44. Use 5x to sight in and 1.5x or 2x when hunting. 3 x10 is too much scope for a 100yd deer gun. Adds weight and bulk. You just don't need that much magnification...at southern Michigan deer hunting ranges you'll find wider field of view more useful than being able to count the whiskers on the deer's nose.

They are a clear scope. Adjustments aren't true but if you set and forget they are good.
