What else have you got to choose from for a moose hunt?

Traded my 300wsm for 270 Win. I'd probably use the 130TTSX, '06. 35Whelen, others I could also borrow.
Creed 6.5'll do the job.

Now ya talking.

I just received the 123 Absolute hammers yesterday! Steve of hammer bullets specially designed with very small rifle engraving surface.
Every gun so far has produced 300 fps more velocity at same as other bullet pressures.

So I will probably break 3800 fps with them with the 6.5 Bee.

see here

Finished my testing today with the 6.5-06AI and 123AHs. With standard primers Superformance ignition was somewhat erratic yesterday. Retested today with CCI 250s. Ignition now good and velocity step-ups were consistent. Ended up with 3514 @ 61.5 gr Superformance
That's a solid 300 fps increase over my 124 HH load in this rifle! Happy!

With the 7mm 155 Absolute Hammers one guy is getting 3350 from his 7mm SAUM and consistent hits at over 1k.

Those Hammers look interesting. I have a couple boxes of Hammer Hunters that I have not gotten around to loading and now they have already improved them, dang.

I have used the original 120 grain Barnes X in 7RM extensively and it is a hammer. I have also used the 6.5mm 120 TTSX and like it very much, but I would not consider it a long-range combination. A good one but the previously mentioned Hammers and Scenars will beat them easily at anything over 400 yards, as well as many others over about 130 grains in weight.

I tried them in my saum, but had much better groupings with the 127 LRX’s.

They are half MOA in 2 different SAUMs for me. Haven’t tried the lrx

Creed 6.5'll do the job.

6.5CM/Barnes LRX combo dropped my Northern Alberta bull moose hard this year. It’ll do the job and then some. wink

Hammer bullets look interesting. That’s a heck of a velocity gain.

You can say that again. Not to mention the ~ 6 feet of penetration.

Yup. That little 127 is impressive.

Don't overlook the Hornady GMX, with a slightly better BC. They are more accuracy than the Barnes in my .260. Midway has Blems in stock.
