I see quintessential farmer gun in form of early Remington 870 (note Remington used Model 31 wood for slide handle on that gun). This indicates ealy 1950s production. At that time Ole' Sod would have used L.C. Smith often called "Elsie" for a such hunt.

You guys are onto me....

Hopefully Jim didn't get stuck.

Kroo, I like your dog.

Richard, even if they had insurance there would be nothing to claim. Half hour of my time isn't worth much...ol

Half hour?

Don't go to work for the County.................that's a 2 day job there.
Someone will forget the new T posts.

Another someone will forget the new wire (can't use the old, safety concerns now that it's been stretched).

The supervisor will be late the first morning because The Corona meeting so he can keep the workers safe.

Might have to get the hazmat team out to check that can of Blue Razz.

Then there's the pre and post picture takin'.

You'd get a good talkin' to if you did it in a half hour.................No on could follow all the safety routines in that amount of time, much less complete the work.

I had some spares in the pickup but the oldies didn't snap like they usually do when they get that bent.

Gotta love it when a plan comes to fruition, eh?

Or, there's nothing wrong with getting lucky now and again!

Still surprised you didn't get a bird or two..................................They must have been warned of your prowess with the shotgun the other day.

Jumped probably 20 birds during the hour long walk, lots of hens... But the cock was extra wily this morning.

Cuzzin', I recognize the slope meter, little different version than the one in our 12E grader.

Where I'm from, if you bring and exhaust system to a party, you don't take the catalytic converter home with you when you leave.

I hope their insurance paid you for the fence.

I spent the day in the barn.

I'm still back and forth. Leighton was supposed to come down a few weeks ago for some fishing equipment, but his wife wasn't feeling well. You might catch me while you're in town. If not, I'm sure I'll see you in TX.

Damned insensitive bastards anyway. I admit to taking out a couple fences in the last fifty years. But they were repaired better than I found them, retightened, and in less than 24 hours.

Not only did the SOBs knock over the fence, they littered up your grain field as well. Fuggers ought to be shot! Some of that schitt could have torn hell out of a combine.

Hey Sam, a good dog will get those cocks out of the fence rows as well as get the cows up out of the brushy gullies. Hell our old male heeler pointed pheasant better than any GSP I ever saw in the field. He retrieved ducks out of the canals. And he never let any cow get the better of him.

After we got the dogs, we figured we had been flushing about one in twenty of the birds we had been walking past. The heeler would point cocks after the GSPs had walked right past them.
