As I am prone to do, a couple years ago I kept my 'busy brain' focused on these two rifles. Not your 'average' Handi-Rifles. After setting them up the way I wanted and doing some load testing they have since sat in the safe. Both have less than 100 rounds through them (most being sub-sonic) and both are 99% condition as they've never been anywhere but to the range. Both shot very well particularly with full-power loads.

#1 .357 MAX, originally a .357 Mag but rechambered to MAX. The straight taper semi-heavy barrel shortened to 18" and threaded. A Tally one-piece mount and the scope is a 30mm Vortex 3-12 x 52 AO Crossfire II illuminated scope (Duplex with a lighted dot) with scope covers. Had Dave White do a trigger job on it and it breaks cleanly at 2.5 pounds. Replaced the original buttstock with a high comb version (from H&R). Has a hammer extentsion.

With scope $495 shipped CUSA as long as your FFL accepts shipments from individual. If in California you must have an FFL that can receive....his costs are your to cover. Also have brass that I'd make a deal on for the buyer.

#2 SPF! 300 Blackout, AAC version with lightweight threaded barrel. Has a Redfield Revenge 3-9 x50 fine-plex reticle in Tally 1-piece 1" mount. RIfle is in original 99% condition with a hammer extentsion, Monte Carlo type stock, matte finish, etc. The trigger breaks at 3 pounds.

SPF! (see conditions listed above)
.

TRADES: Will consider trades for Howa 1500 22-250, Ruger American 22-250 with new style stock, any Rem 700 22-250, any Remington 700 short action .223 or .308 boltface, or any caliber Savage 99 DL or CD. We can do wholesale-wholesale prices or retail-retail prices, you decide. And yes, I can kick in cash for the right deal.

Did Dave White rechamber to Maxi? If so, which bullet profile did he chamber it for? What's the thread pitch and size of the barrel threads?

Thanks, Dinny

I have no idea of the thread pitch. Whatever H&R put on their .357 Mag barrels. The barrel is 18" long and right where the threading starts it is .8170

Decided I'm going to keep the .357 Max, i.e. no longer for sale. Unable to edit the original post. -Matt

In the 12 years I've been loading the 357 Max I have never found a better hunting bullet than those made by Dennis at Fury Custom Bullets. Give them a try sometime.

Thanks, Dinny
