No, a few more folks wouldn’t hurt us a bit. But, since were 90%+ Mormon, the influx of all these “open minded” Californians is puzzlingly low....... wink.

That's why I mentioned "limited" growth. We lived for awhile in Boulder City, NV. Limited growth, BIG city limits they were smart enough to incorporate years and years ago, and most importantly in NV---- NO GAMBLING.

It was wonderful to live there, and be able to stay away from the zoo over the hill in Henderson/Las Vegas.

I'll agree, we could use a little here. This year's census should be interesting. I think they lost a few percent population in the last one. We just got a brand spankin' new hospital here, opens tomorrow I think. Some things will be nice, others not so much. My pharmacy is moving from a small place on Main St to within the actual hospital building. Now will have to go through the main doors, get temp checked and wear masks and such, and go into the place where all the sick people are. They could have had an outside entrance.

I think the city/county is hoping to attract some more health care providers with the new facility and hoping that attracts some other places. Problem is, even though we're away from all the crap in the cities, businesses still have to operate under State rules, and from some reports businesses here in Cali are bailing too.

The St George thing is exactly the problem with growth at all costs program. That water issue is going to be a big one. Especially with continued droughts forecast. Last I heard, when I lived down in that area of the world, some of that water they're hoping to get from L Powell is already spoken for downriver. Water rights are powerful JuJu in the desert.

90% Mormon will tend to keep the unwashed masses away, sometimes. I hope your county can pick up enough growth to be sustaining, but not so ,much it ruins the quality of life.

Vote republican for everything. Then the USA stays alive and free. Otherwise, the democrat/republican anti-American/socialist/communist/marxist/liberals win and freedom will be gone along with anything which was the USA. That will include our guns, much higher taxes, Constitution, and our way of freedom in our life. You can kiss the churches goodbye too. Then get ready to learn to speak chinese. The democrat anti-American/socialist/communist/marxist/liberals should be removed from office and off all the ballots for they offer nothing for America or the American people to help make the country better. Their choice is removal.

I hope you aren't depending on Republicans for our salvation. Ruth Ginsburg was confirmed with a 96 to 3 vote. With a few exceptions Republicans are only slightly better than avowed Democrats and socialists. The USA does not stay alive and free. It will thrash about a while longer and die. Sorry to break it to you but we are bankrupt and owned by international bankers. What are the chances we will tell them to take a hike that we aren't paying. You think those trillions of fake dollars they gave didn't have a mortgage attached?

Sorry fellas, but I am getting my two girls out of this moral cesspool as soon as the divorce is settled. My wife won't leave the family that treats her like garbage.

It looks like Utah for me and the girls. Decent people with great standards of behavior. I will do my best to fit in and not wreck anything.

Generally speaking, the southeast is regarded by them as being redneck Trump country and that's largely true.

As for Kentucky, California liberals would be a loose fit for Lexington and to a lesser extent Louisville.

The rest of the state is a very bad cultural fit for Californians. New York City folks wouldn't get along here at all.

Fortunately, they all seem to understand that.

Thinking about KY, we had a KY crew putting utility lines back up after Hurricane Laura did a job on us here in LA.

Cajun neighbor was talking to these Kentuckians about how his Granddad made shine. I told him, these's boy's Dads and Granddad's probably wrote the book on moon-shine, that Cajuns may have their skill sets, but their moon-shining wouldn't compare, amateurs talking to pros. I had them all laughing. But, that's a big truth... Cajuns may make shine, but those Kentuckians were and are the masters of the trade.

Good guys, enjoyed visiting with them and really enjoyed getting electricity restored. Ran my generator for a week.

Tracy you will be welcomed anywhere, and those lovely daughters as well. As noted some time ago, there are some places in Southern Utah which seem a really good fit for what you seek - but selfishly I would rather have you nearby in AZ. Just be sure get close enough that you can be at all of our SW Campfire get togethers.

This means a lot to me Sir. Thank you very much.

The topic of this thread is very real. I have been going through realtor's multiple listing sites (MLS) for at least five years. The sharp increase in housing prices got even more extreme in July, after the death of St George Floyd while in police custody. The madness (leftists machines) that have gripped the country have pushed a lot of people over the line. This line is the line of decent society, which California has famously lost years ago. Northern Arizona, my presumed target, climbed out of my reach. Everywhere a Californian would go had gone crazy. The prices that are affecting me, though, are for locals and natives that are being pushed out of their areas by the influx of Californians.

Funny observation: For years in San Francisco the most liberal people were often just rebels from small town America trying to live a Hollywood fantasy. They couldn't speak french otherwise they'd move to Paris. Those that could moved to San Francisco because Europe is gone but they would never admit that. If they did. it was Reagan's/Bush's/Trumps fault, not the reality of drugs and Muslims. All these people believe the Summer of Love was yesterday and it is an annual event like a street fair.

The Liberal policies that destroyed the Golden State live on. While typing this I heard over the radio of the retirement of a 40 year veteran of the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The announcement could hardly wait to mention that the man was black and that the Governor was selecting the FIRST FEMALE to head the CHP, She, too, is black. No other qualifications mentioned.

The reality and patriotism that September 11th had awakened has withered away. So has the memory of the hard times of the Great Recession under Obama. Fighting Leftist policies will be an unending battle.

Don’t worry, they’ll change all that soon enough. Liberalism is a plague. Like a tick, it needs a host to survive and the only way to kill it is to smash or burn it out.

fwiw they do tend to kill their young

Seems like half the older population of our town here in Wyoming have moved to St. George, or at least bought a winter home there. No worries, though, their slots are being taken up by Californians. eek

Been in Utah since '79...transplant from W PA...never looked back

Had a good long career with UPS....retired 9 yrs now...so living in Podunk is not an issue

Wife has good secure job with the State....few yrs to retire

Employment will determine where you live in most cases...

Living 3 hrs from the Wasatch Front Zoo & traffic is close enough for me

My location has two seasons..summer & winter....wind & more wind

Elevation may be an issue to some flat landers too....not to be over looked

I can go 30 minutes east....or west...on the Kawi SxS...and disappear in the vast empty public land Utah

That's what is great about being here !

Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

Democrats would burn this country to the ground, if they could rule over the ashes.
