I am thinking of getting one of these and having it rebored to a a bigger cartridge.

Does anyone have one, that could advise the barrel dimension across the flats, at the muzzle? I want to discuss with the smith before I buy the donor, and make sure he buys in

TIA!

Nice! I am thinking of getting a .223 or a .22 Hornet rebored to .30-30. It should clean up either chamber. Did JES do all the work and fitting, or did they just rebore & rechamber the barrel?

Just bought a used Browning 1885 in 223, have not picked up at dealer. Mine will stay stock. Wonder though about extractor mods if you re bore.

If I rebored my Low Wall .223 barrel with its .560 muzzle diameter to .358 (and I wouldn't in a million years) it would leave only .100 wall thickness. That's thinner than the .125" wall thickness recommended by re-borers, is it not? Were calibers larger than .22 on the low Wall Browning furnished with heavier barrels? This thing is so dainty I would cringe at the thought of changing it to a heavy thumper caliber in the first place.

JES will do full service , of course with a 308 based family cartridge Rechambered to 358 issues are minimal

Have you ever seen one? I don't recall any information on Browning manufacturing a Swede in the Low Wall.

Believe it was one sold under the Winchester brand. Had the lust, but not the wherewithal, when they came out.

I think one in .25/35 would be the beans, but can’t even imagine doing that with my Hornet😱

You should be flogged for selling that 6.5 X 55. I've been looking for one for years and everyone I've seen they want $2500-$5000 for them.

When I bought my 243 I went through at least 6 boxes of 260s. If I had only known I would have bought three of them with the best wood. Wanted to get a 6.5x55 but all that I saw had bland wood on them. I keep thinking about a 25-35AI in a low wall or 7-30 waters, that would be a sweet package.
