That's really young for a WW2 vet. Happy Birthday, sir. Off the top of my head, He would have been 18 in 1944....probably enlisted or got drafted right out of high school. Happy Birthday to him!

That's really young for a WW2 vet. Happy Birthday, sir. Off the top of my head, He would have been 18 in 1944....probably enlisted or got drafted right out of high school. Happy Birthday to him! Back when Dad graduated, they only had 11 grades, so he got out of high school in the spring of 1943. Had to wait until his birthday in the fall of 1943 to join the Navy.
