I have two single shot Steven shotguns, 410 and 20. They were my first firearms as a kid - sentimental value.
Both stocks were cut down to fit me as a kid, and are several inches shorter than standard.
I can't find replacement stocks; what are my low cost options to add spacers or fab a new stock so I can get them shooting again?

A slip on recoil pad might do the trick

Here is a link to a commercial spacer system that might give you some ideas.

Stock Spacers

Since you have inches to make up, the Kick-ezz spacers would not be very economical.

You can do your own by using several layer of plexiglass or some other sheet plastic and a 1" thick recoil pad.

I was thinking about buying a new full length stock from a different model and modifying it to fit. Has anyone ever done something similar?

It would be a lot easier to just fab an extension.

Here's one I did at the last minute for a hunt, this is just a piece of plywood to extend a rifle that was set up for something else. Look close at the butt, someday I'll blend it in a little better.

I have short arms so most of my guns need to be shortened, I save all the cutoffs so they can be added back in, but you can make them from just some hardwood from the lumber yard. If you don't want to cross-grain it you can just laminate a stack.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Have you checked eBay or numrich? Hell you could buy another just for the wood make the swap and sell the other one to a kid who needs a shorter LOP

Both stocks are 12.25” LOP with 1” recoil pads (3” too short without pad).

I’m thinking a 2” hardwood extension and a slip on recoil pad may hide the mismatch.

Thanks for the ideas.

You would be surprised how well a filler piece can be made to match with a proper refinish
