Great filmography top to bottom. Seemed like a principled man as well. Will miss knowing he’s out there somewhere.

“One ping only” in honor of Sean Connery today.

He was great as General Urquhart, in "A Bridge Too Far", one of my favorite movies of all time (I was a paratrooper myself, long ago and far away)

. Not so much as the Bren gunner in "The Longest Day", but then, it was poorly directed, so maybe it wasn't his fault.

The James Bond by which all others were measured; and came up short.

Connery was a good Bond, but I think the most underrated bond was Timothy Dalton. People hate on him but he gave a new side to Bond that had never been seen before. My favorite Connery role was in Highlander

Connery played Bond back when the stories were written by Ian Flemming. When they ran out of Flemming books, they started improvising and things changed. A while back we watched the reworked version of Casino Royale with Daniel Craig. It has far more action that the earlier Flemming books. They were more intrigue while the recent ones are more action.
David Niven starred in the original Casino Royale. It was way back when and I don't remember it at all but I'm sure it was slower moving.

Good actor, perhaps. But he was also yet another actor who made his living doing gun-filled movies only to be rabidly against any of us having guns.

He was good at his craft. I used to view him as the best Bond of all times but the more I see Daniel Craig the more my opinion sways that he is the best. Craig has the same polished side but also exhibits a lot of rough edges and likes to get his revenge as well.
Either way, RIP, hope you enjoyed your time on earth.
God Speed.

In real life it would take a hard body to do the stuff that Bond does on film. Craig is a hard body, much more so than Connery was.

Craig is also a big time Anita-Gun Commie.

I always thought Pierce Bronson was one of the better Bond’s. I’m probably in the minority on that opinion though.

The Saturday Night Live skits on it were hilarious.

That was George Lazenby. BEST replacement for Connery..

Daniel Craig is British. Being anti-gun goes with the territory. It's also why they'll fall to Islam before long, like France.
