I bought an RWS 350 N-tec several months ago (after Kragman forced me) and decided to be cheap and put on a scope I had in hand rather than get another purpose built springer scope.
The little Burris Timberline 4.5-14 seemed like a nice fit and it worked well but last weekend I noticed a rattle in the adjustable eye piece, Hmm.
I'd been told they'd handle the recoil but apparently not. It never lost zero, just rattles.

No knock on Burris, I love their scopes and I'll be glad to get this one back. This was MY fault for being CHEAP!

Today, I'm mounting another Hawke Airmax 4-12x40 , number 4 because they work perfectly for a springers (gas ram) recoil.

Save yourself some grief and buy a purpose built scope designed for springer recoil from the start.

The Burris will go on a 6mmCreedmoor.

Springer rated scopes are almost always required for springer air guns.

Some get by with powder burner scopes, but most sing the tale of woe from scope destruction fairly quickly.

Several years ago Burris told me that their scopes were spring gun rated. I ended up breaking two on an RWS 350. Burris repaired both scopes, but I gave up on Burris on my spring guns. After talking to Leupold, I've used there socpes on several spring guns including an RWS 350, RWS 48, and some others. I've yet to have a Leupold break. Bushnell Elites have held up on my magnum airguns as well.

Hi Colodog

I'm sorry that happened to you. When I called Burris about using their stuff on magnum springers, their tech guy was confident that any of their scopes would be up to it. Looks like that just isn't true. At least they'll back it.

Again, sorry I led you down that road. If you end up needing a scope let me know and I'll see what I have.

But hey - how's that RWS..? Pretty nice huh? 😁😁😁
