Shwan is a pretty rugged guy. He said this buck was running the other bucks out where he was hunting. So he did the right thing!

It was just about cool enough to sit in the stand and not feel like you were in a wet sauna this weekend.

Had the opportunity to sit out for an hour or so after dark.

A sounder of these hoglets came in and I lined up two for a twofer.

A bit later I got this vid of a gray fox........

all in all, an enjoyable evening!

What scope is that and do you recommend it. Is it night vision or thermal?

That is night vision. I've ended up using it more than my Flir PST233 thermal.

It is an ATN X-Sight II HD, 3-14, coupled with an IR850 Illuminator, and it works fine day or night.

However there is a newer model that has two features that make it more attractive.

The ATN X-SIGHT 4K PRO 5-20X is my next night vision scope. Reportedly it has an 18 hour battery life. The X-Sight HD II us a battery hog and you get about 45 minutes out of 4 AA batteries.

Next, the 4K Pro has what is called "dual streaming". If I understand that correctly you can connect your i-pad, tablet or phone via blue tooth and view on that device without having to have your eye glued to the optic. That is a huge plus.
A link to the ATN website.

The camera angle makes it look further than it is .

Of course I live in the NE and hunt in CT and ME so anything further than 50 yards is a " mile shot " laugh
