Do not use it....but just curious

Sure factory ammo in general..especially pistol ammo..9mm

But 30-30...? Had a buddy looking for some...GB auctions were stupid crazy

Found all ya wanted in a Utah gun shop...at $18 per box of 20

The only factory ammo I use is 22LR...handload every thing else

Here's the Marlin branded ammo I picked up....Rem mfg'd ?

It's deer season in much of the nation.

Bet popularity has to do with how much the ammo companies produce too.

LGS owner says panic buyers who missed the boat on other stuff defaulted to 30-30 because it was there AND it's been bumped down the priority line by major producers due to pandemic/looting.

A combination of the three posts above is the cause.

Sorry but I don’t buy the “ missed out on the 9mm so I’ll buy 30 30” . Combination of supply disruptions because of Covid, the Remington bankruptcy and the election. This is unprecedented as never before have things like 30 30 been affected especially now when it usually is on sale/rebate and at its highest supply for the hunting season.

More like "I missed out on 5.56 for the AR but I have a 30-30 at home so I'll stock up for that so I have something"

It is because of all of those millions of first-time firearm owners who opted for a lever-action rifle as their first purchase.

That and the fact that there are only three US companies mfg primers currently. Limited supply of primers at Winchester , Federal and CCI will gofirst to high volume cartridges. Read Powder Valley's statement on. Primer shortage.

I actually know some people who bought Henry 30-30s just to have *any* rifle around.

.30-30 ammo remained available for a few months at the local Wally World and Cabelas long after the 5.56 and 9mm had all disappeared. However it too disappeared eventually... especially once hunting season started. Since it's nowhere near as popular a round as the others it'll probably be awhile before you see any again.

A Henry 30-30 is a great little rifle. In the hands of someone that can shoot it'd be a very effective weapon. But if they just bought it that's not likely the case.

.......certainly not common sense. Panic buying has nothing to do with fear? Especially since we’ve seen this type of buying over the last 2-3 decades now? I would think “good” sense would to have been being prepared prior to the problem - but hey that’s me.
