Hi everyone, I hope you are doing well.

My name is Alan, I live in Montana, USA. I have never been to Canada neither have I hunt outside the United States, I and my family have plans to hunt in Canada, first quater of 2021.

My question is, where can I and my family get the best hunting experience in Canada. This will help my plans and my expense for this hunting trip/holiday. I have a family of 5, myself, my wife, a son and 2 daughters.

I will appreciate every input and opinion. Thanks in advance.

Alan.

Alan, you have a low post count, so I'll welcome you to this place.

We will be doing well to even be allowed into Canada by then.

NW Ontario is a ways East of you. The only place I know much about is Merkel's Camp, on Wabigoon Lake.

Good morning to you sir, I hope the day's a wee bit brighter down in Hamilton than we have here and that all else is going as well as can be for you and yours.

As my friend wabigoon has already said, welcome to our 'Fire from north of the medicine line.

Back in the ancient times, a bunch of us Canucks got a thread going that would hopefully contain if not all, at least some of the information you're seeking. Here's a link to it - it's the stickied thread second from the top here too.

Honestly I'm not willing to even venture a guess as to when anyone will be allowed to cross from either side of the medicine line, but when that does happen we'll do our best to update that thread for sure.

All the best to you and your family as we head into winter.

Dwayne

I do know they sell about 3600 moose tags in NFLD for visiting hunters every (normal) year. The vast majority of those hunters are Americans and many of those sports are repeat visitors.

Apart from the pandemic issues, what is it you want to hunt? You mention the timing being looked at as the first quarter of 2021. This would make it Jan., Feb., March. Mostly small game at that time. Why are you restricted to that time?
