Buddy is a long-time duck hunter who’s had a couple of labs reach Master level. We convinced him to go to deer camp last year but he didn’t see anything. We took him along on a ML hunt this week and on Tuesday set him up in one of my hot spots. He scored his first deer at 66 years old. Yeah, it’s the ugliest spike buck I’ve ever seen but they’re good eating and you can’t eat the horns.

Congrats to your friend. The smile of a child at age 66.
Just because I am wandering around doesn't mean I am lost.

The smile says it all! No such thing as an ugly first deer. Congratulations to the new deer hunter and to you for helping to make it happen!

Great smile -- congratulations to your bud. Adult experience for his first deer most likely has him hooked now. This shows it is never to late to get a person started in the shooting sports. Good on you as well for getting him out and into your one of your favorite spots for a successful day.
