Connelly continues to turn out books that are hard to put down. This book is about retired detective Harry (Hieronymous) Bosch and detective Renee Ballard as they work together to try to find the murderer of a Judge. A woman who is a juror is fairly close to the judge when he is quietly murdered but doesn't see or hear anything as she is listening to something on ear buds. And also a derelict dies in his tent on the street when his kerosene lantern falls over. The man is homeless so no one seems to care except for Bosch who believes "Everyone counts or no one counts" and he takes on the investigation.
Are these two deaths linked? Could be. But, wait! There's more! (Have you ever heard that before?) A lawyer takes a flight. From a building. What is going on?
Read another gripping book by reading this one!
