Love it. It’s a tack-driver and a joy to carry. Nothing about it was any less than my expectations. Hope you’re able to track down a 7-08. That was my first choice also but I caught the tail end of them selling out everywhere when they halted production and there was nary a 7-08 to be found. Barrett said production should resume late this year or early next when I called in June but I haven’t heard that it has. 6.5x55 Barrett FC, Meostar 1.75-10x42, Hornady SST’s 1 down, 3 does to go. How do you like that Barrett? I’m thinking about getting one for next season if I can find a 7-08 with a 21” barrel. Seems a like a nice minimal hassle all weather rifle.
Fear the crabcat.

I have owned many different calibers and would guess I am down to about a dozen rifles for deer. Last deer was shot with a Mossberg 30-30. And most likely I’ll be carrying the same rifle this year.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

1998 Remington 700 SS, gunsmith safely adjusted the trigger, Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x40, Limbsaver recoil pad, 30.06, Federal ammo w/165-gr SGK's. It's entirely too much just to kill deer in El Norte Tejas, I wish I had something smaller like a 6.5x55

My son and I used his 243 loaded with my cast bullets to kill our deer this year. We had to keep the shots closer, but it worked very well.

Lot of frontal area ... "bullet" hopefully doesn't deform too much.

I look , pick something I haven`t killed with ,test zero , use it . Yesterday I shot one with 783 300 Win. 150gr Winchester deer season . Rifle shoots three into an inch at one hundred yds, lol , spike walked under me at 10 yds. Shot him through the neck came out shoulder . Always wondered what a magnum would do , now I know . Man what a mess . Next up is a 444 . Kenneth
