Looks like I may be going to Montana in 2022 for Mule deer/elk. I don't know if anybody has any experience with the Argos scope, I really like the scope. It is the 2-10x40 with the BDC 600 reticle. That reticle has several holdover points that should correspond with 200, 300, and 400 yards. (yes, I will shoot to verify) So I may not be dialing, just using the holdover reticles. Any reason you wouldn't trust the scope? Please don't get into a "dialing vs holdover" argument. I have been closely following the "when does dialing make sense" thread, and read plenty of opinions.
Edit to add- cartridge will likley be 280 AI if that matters, likely with Hammer bullets 155 grain Absolutes.

Don't overthink this. By the time 2022 rolls around, you'll know whether your scope will work or not. Good hunting and Happy Friday.

Good advice. I'm sure the scope will be fine, but you'll know by the time your hunt rolls around.

Also, it's not like dialing or bdc reticles are a prerequisite for western hunting. Just know your personal limits and enjoy the hunt.

I tried the Athlon Argos 2-10 scope on a coyote hunting rifle, while I was able to kill coyotes with it I found the TALL turrets to be a pain in the butt. I gave the whole rig to my granddaughter as she it mainly a range shooter.

Then the Argos 2-12 scope with low turrets came out and I love it. I have it on my open country coyote rig. Med weight 20 Practical barrel shooting 40gr NBT's

Thanks Erich. Any problems you ran into other than the tall turrets?

No, I wouldn't have given a problematic scope to my granddaughter. In fact her husband liked it enough that he bought the next higher power level for his precision AR.

That is what I figured! Thanks!

Jared,

This is the latest Argos hunter..
2-12 x42.

Same 600 BDC reticle with side parrallax adjustment and low profile turrets.

Looks like a nice all around scope for $299
