This is probably the biggest cover-up in world history. We will never know for sure if Oswald had anything to do with the assassination or who did. And we will never know who had it done. I was in my second year of college, and heard about it on the radio in my dorm room while studying for my next class, which was cancelled.

If we live long enough, we all have regrets...and the regrets that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.

Those who postulate that are ignorant of the fact that Oswald started with a cartridge already chambered. He had only to throw the bolt twice. Not hard to do.

Yeah,..but the biggest trick Oswald pulled off was hitting JFK in the forehead while being behind him.

Lots of WW I and WW II vets from a myriad of nations would be VERY surprised to learn that it might be difficult to fire three aimed shots from a bolt rifle in eight seconds.

That is not where the story falls apart.

Grade 6 small town in Northern. B.C. just before recess. loudspeaker above teacher's head principal broke in out of nowhere and made the announcement. A short time passed , then we were let out on the school grounds .

53 years later I called up my best friend and asked him if he knew what day it was. His answer ; " This is the day they shot John F. Kennedy."

And lastly, the discoveries of all official investigations would not have had to be locked away for all eternity, or until the contents of all the boxes mysteriously disappear, whichever comes first.

In the early 60s, young unemployed men with very little income did not go flitting around the globe on airlines, back and forth to Russia and Cuba. LHO was on somone's payroll and had been for years,

Had it been the mob, as many suggest, the investigative reports could have been released at the time. They certainly could have been released by Trump a couple years ago.

That just leaves US Government agents. John and Bobby were gung ho about busting the CIA back to a tiny shadow of its former self. CIA equals deep state, then and now.

No doubt in my mind, CIA orchestrated the killing of John, then LHO, and then Bobby.

Idaho Shooter,
Am 44, and puzzle over pretty much the same points. I don’t find it hard to believe oswald could pull off the shooting, nor that he in fact did it. Rather it’s the long list of contextual and coincidental oddities, any one of which could have been happenstance, but there’s a lot of them. There’s more to the story, unknown to history, that gives me pause. What is that story, and is in consequential maybe profoundly so, or it it merely curious? I think focussing on the shooting itself is a bit of a canard, really.

Seen a few things, but it’s the 24hour campfire classifieds that’ll make me break out in a cold damned sweat.

Really? I can't keep up with the levels of dumbfuckery around here. Oswald is no different than any other democrat voter? Has there been a rash of presidential assassinations that I'm not aware of? In what way was Oswald the same as any democrat voter?

This is even stupider than TreeMutt's thread.

The secret service was a much different organization back in JFK's day...It was a bunch of young dudes that weren't well trained...A couple of them were interviewed for a documentary and discussed how under qualified and under trained and a little too trusting they all were. The organization got really serious after the JFK shooting.

You really think Trump could have survived the last 4 years if the secret service did as stupid as crap as they did back then? Like having a President drive through a major city with high rise buildings in a convertible...Not to bright...It's not that there aren't a lot of fruitcake DEMs out there that want to see him harmed, it's that it wouldn't be easy at all to do it...

Oswald shot JFK, of that I have no doubt. But he did not act alone, and he probably wasn't the only shot

He just HAPPENED to work in the building JFK drove past. He had only worked there for a couple months. Yet he somehow had enough foreknowledge of the President's schedule, which wasn't published to the extent it is today, to allow him to build a nest, plan and practice his shot, and the motorcade just HAPPENED to slow and take the exact route that would afford Oswald the opportunity.

If JFK had been shot at a speech, on a podium, or somewhere else that was publicized or that would allow for some advance prep, I'd by that Oswald was alone.

But there are too many "just happened to be" for Oswald to have been a lone gunman.

I was in a sixth grade classroom. I saw another answer to the question. The first shot was Oswald and the last shot was one of the security guys in the car behind Kennedy. There is no magic bullet that can do all that damage from the moving angles of the motorcade. There was also a traffic light that was run down, with a bullet strike, the one that was in Dealey Plaza that day. It was in line for the last shot LHO would have made. The name of the SS guy who did the ND shot was given. They covered it up quite well and closed ranks around him through his retirement. It always leads to more questions to hear these theories. Be Well, RZ.

I understand the way you feel.

However, though I was born 2 years after he was killed, from what little I know about JFK, sounds like he had little in common with today's Democrats who are essentially communists.

JFK stood up to the Soviet Union when they tried to install nukes in Cuba. Today's Democrat party essentially IS the Soviet Union.

JFK cut taxes. No Democrat/Communist today is ever going to do that.

Evidently JFK was not a fan of the Federal Reserve. Both parties are fans of the Federal Reserve today.

No gun grabs under JFK that I know of.

I think CNN would call JFK a "far right radical" today.

An interesting topic of conversation while sitting at the reloading bench, like who was the better batter Micky Mantle or Roger Marris. Equally useless as 'who was Jack The Ripper'

You got that right. Also, JFK was a member of he NRA. In those days the NRA, cooperation with the government, sold surplus rifles and pistols to its members. JFK bought an M1 Garand to use as protection on his boat.
