At a Belarusian friend’s last night. His MIL makes all the old country favourites. From the bottom:

Homemade head cheese
Veggies
Smoked salmon
Russian potato salad
Shuba, an Eastern European favourite made with beets and herring
Homemade Kohlbasa
Pickled local wild mushrooms
Egg salad
Homemade sauerkraut
More headcheese.

Missing, schnitzel and Finlandia vodka

John, if you ate some herring, you could wait with baited breath. smile

John, Not impressed with that chicken recipe. Chicken was cooked perfectly, but pffft on the recipe. Chicken on its own was good. Rub did not add enough flavor. Mashed potatoes and squash were excellent, though.😂🤣

Smoked a pork butt today. It was my first one and I think it was a success. The boys were eating it as fast as I could shred it! Haha!

Thanks for the report!

There are SO many recipes on the 'net that don't live up to their hype that I've had better luck getting personal reports like yours before I start cooking!
