Oh yeah. We would hit the whole roll with a hammer. Thanks for reminding me. My brothers and I had many of those “roll cap” guns. And we did lay a whole roll on cement and hit it with a hammer. The good ole days. I suppose today, we would be taken from our parents and put in to foster care for having access to toy guns and caps.

When I was 7 or 8, I had a rig with two of those cap guns and a sheriffs badge! Buddy, I was the chit!😁 I even had one of those lever guns with a piston that went pfft when you cocked it and pulled the trigger. Later on I had an M-1 Garrand that took the plastic caps on a revolver type magazine. Bet that thing would be a collectors item now! Looking back, I was pretty well armed for a kid! 7mm

I remember the cap guns when living at grammys farm. So had to be about 5 yrs old. Had a bolt action rifle w a fake wooden cartridge in it too. Rule was they had to go bye bye, and couldnt play like that anymore, when I got a real rifle.

Come to think of it, I took those guns on the school bus to play with at recess! Boy, I bet that’d cause a riot today!🤪 Probably would get shot or locked up! Boy, how things have changed... 7mm

got my first bb gun when I was 6, the first thing I did was shoot my younger brother in the ass with it while he was bent over trying to catch a lizard. back in those days, a daisey red rider would break the skin.

I cut my teeth on one of those Glenfield bolt .22s! It was my older brother’s, but I went through a couple bricks every summer, one 7 round clip at a time! Open sight, shooting those plastic soldiers and bottles and cans! The rifles mine now. It’s in my gun cabinet and comes out on special occasions. It still shoots tiny groups too! I wonder what you gotta do to a .22 to wear it out? I bet that things seen half a million rounds or more. 7mm

I liked to play TV cowboy with a cap gun that could fire dozens of shots without reloading. Then they came out with those star shaped caps with only 8 shots. They required reloading and cost a lot more.
