Depends on the size. Buy from a local nursery for larger potted trees. Buy via internet for small or bare root trees. Here is the old standby: https://www.arborday.org/trees/

I got an apricot tree from Stark Brothers. Good prices and selection. Only ships in fall or spring if I remember correctly.
Blooms like crazy in the spring until we get a late freeze. Haven't got any fruit yet, but it's my fault for wishing for better results from incorrect placement.

I bought a mountain ash from the Arbor Day foundation, just fine. This spring I bought dead twigs from them.

stark brothers is where i got all mine. probably a dozen apple and quite a few mast producers. the only ones that did not live were cherrys, but i don't think that was the trees fault. i could not keep the damn worms off of them and i planted them too far away from water source to keep them watered like they needed. some of my oaks i planted within the past 15-18 years are 12-16 inch and 40 or so feet tall and producing like crazy. and the squirrels moved up the hill and planted a bunch for me.

What kind of trees are you looking for? Cummins Nursery and Adams County Nursery are both top notch for apples. Cummins carries some other fruit trees as well. http://www.cumminsnursery.com/https://www.acnursery.com/

In AC, we used to get trees from the Elmore Nursery in Minnesota. Don't know if it even still exists.

It used to be Big Lots. They'd get the big 12' varieties of apples, peach pears, etc and on the 20% friends and family weekend sale. Final price $10 BUCKS!!!A poor man can afford that. Any of us can get a small orchard started and in a couple years have free fruit from then on.
That's it! No better price on quality 2+ year trees. They quit carrying them, but if we all call & email corporate office now and until spring, I think that would be a good incentive for them to sell again. Who's with me? https://www.biglots.com/help/contact-us
