Typed a search for Motely Fool-Ruger Marlin purchase to get a read on the latest info on the Ruger purchase. Number of detailed reports, although I'm not into buying stocks or following the DOW etc, there were some interesting reads about Marlin future at Ruger. Best read was buy some stockbroker type who is into firearms also. He blasted the 'Fool' and whoever wrote the article mentioned by Hanco updating Rugers purchase of Marlin with a picture of a Savage 99. The writer advised he knows enough about firearms to know that was a 99 and not a 336. Blasted the writer and 'Fool' telling them if they are going to do an article, get the firearm and picture right. Go's to show ya how ignorant many in the public are who are suppose to be "the who's who of America" and what they really know.....Ha Ha Heh Heh!!!!!!!!

That is kind of like saying Ford acquires Chrysler and then showing a picture of a Mercedes Benz in the announcement. Kind of symbolic for the year in many ways. However I'm sure Ruger will prove to be a better steward of the Marlin name than did Remington. Now if they would bring back the 39!

Hah! Now y'all know that Marlin is dropping their entire line to devote all their resources to the revival of the Savage 99. whistle

Hay now!

The first 99/1895 1899 whatever the text books decided they were .......

Had a JM stamp.

Now maybe like the NY jets .......jm fired belicheck.........

But me thinks not! The ability of the 1893 to evolve through the 93, 36, 336 is legend.

The 1895, 1899, 99........lost its way.............

Kinda like JCPenny, Sears and Roebuck, and typing paper white out!

Just my opinion.

maybe we should lobby for Ruger to bring back the Savage 1895 under the JM connection!
