They have been running that one at 749 for a while. I have been tempted, but if I ever get my 6 Creed Nosler Liberty back from Nosler, this one would be redundant. I would have bought it rather than the Nosler if I had to do it all over again.

Glad I didn't see it @$749, 'cuz I'd have probably bought it at that price too. blush

It's redundant for me as well, but for $719 I figure I can just throw it in a corner and who knows.

A bud of mine has one of these.

Shoots Sierra Prohunter 100 grain bullets under 1" pretty handily.

Man, this is very tempting, but bad timing for me. Spent my spare money on handguns and ammo, lol. Good looking rifle.

Few years back when big R was closing out the M7 predators I bought one in 243 win for $499.00. It shot 95 NBT's under an 1" from the get go. They shoot nice.MB

The fact that I have one of those Predators in 243, sitting in my safe, and rarely getting used, is the one and only reason I am not going to pull the trigger on this deal. I came within a hair of buying this Model 7 model in 6.5 Creedmoor, but had my doubts as to have that pencil thin barrel would shoot at longer ranges. I ended up going with a 700 American Hunter 6.5, because of the heavier barrel.

This is a good deal, and likely there are not many new Remington firearms left. It sure hurts to pass on this one.

James Jr. Not sure but that contour on the barrel of a predator is the same as the M7 as magnum model ss .I had .663" on the muzzle of the predator camo and .643" on the stainless steel mag muzzle. I don't know if the camo is multi layered paint or decal but appears thick. Either way at 22" length they aren't whippy like the regular m7 20" contour. Mb

So how do these newer Model Seven rifles shoot?

I'm shopping for a new rifle, not exactly what I want, but this is almost too good to pass up.

I have a Model 7 stainless in 223, it doesn't have the HS stock, but barrel wise is the same as the 243 we're talking about. It's been a good shooter out to 200 yards or so, which is just what I was looking for in a truck/tractor/UTV rifle. I'd say that this 243 would be plenty accurate at the ranges that most people are going to shoot something.

I would expect under 1.5" for 3 shots in that stock. I have a j lock version in 7-08 that shot most everything around 1.5" or so in the factory tupperware with forend pressure. Since swapping to a Bansner it seems to have tightened up a good bit with the stiffer stock and free float. I keep telling myself I dont need another M7 or 243 but at that price my willpower is getting weak.

These are H.S Precision stocks, a goodly bit better than Tupperware.

That was my point. The HS should shoot better than the factory tupperware, which by the way are heavy as hell. I dropped over 12 oz in weight going from the tupperware to the finished Bansner and thats including a 1" limbsaver. Remington could have done much better than they did with the 38 oz tupperware.

If one wanted a stainless compact 243 this may be the best option for the money unless they wanted a sheep rifle.
