Does anyone have any experience with the older 1inch Schmidt and Bender 12x42 fixed power scope on a hunting rifle?

Is it too much magnification? I hunt mostly out west and most shots are 200ish and longer. Rarely less thank 100 so I think a fixed 12 would be ok.
Also how does it handle low light? Clarity good?

It's one of my least used scopes. It's my bullet tester. And special project scope.
I've not hunted with it.
Optics are excellent.
Reticle is alittle fine for night work IMHO.
First time you get something up close and personal, your going to regret it.
For what your doing it will work but there are probably better options..

I just picked one up for load testing. Not a 1" tube, but 26mm. I put it into 30mm rings with adapters from EGW. Okie John
If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.
