I bought a Montana in 7-08, before they had them in 6.5 Creed. If they had - I would have.

99.5% of all my hunting shots are 100-220 yards - Creed and 7-08 do pretty well there, not just long.

Bullets matter a smidge as someone once said and the .264 and .284 diameters tend to have dang good bullets with impressive BC/SD should I want to go long.

If your panties really are that bunched up about 6.5 Creedmoors and their capabilities or popularities - we should all be so lucky to have life so dicked that this concern would garner any energy or attention.

It's a great cartridge that does a lot in a handy package. Don't see anyone saying you have to have it OVER what's already in your stable - but it is often recommended to those looking for something new because it is new and does a lot well and very little not so great.

Show me on the doll where the Creedmoor hurt you...

I see no problem, as long as he sports a man bun.

He didn't seem to see the humor in it

A guy I used to shoot high power with shortened 6.5-08 by .080 (before the .260 R) so he could get better use of 142 Sierra's for 300yd rapid. I thought it was a great idea and chambered a new Krieger holding my 6.5-08 reamer short. Worked great, lost very little at 600yd and gained a great deal for the 300 rapids.
Dennis DeMille was shooting in NC at the same time, I always wondered if he got the idea for the 6.5 CM from us?

it is ridiculous the drama that comes from this cartridge on both sides. I own a Creed and like it but it is pretty vanilla in my mind. It is a good, utilitarian cartridge that would serve the needs of most hunters but there really is nothing flashy about it (kind of like the 30-06). My 3 favorite cartridges are 25-06 (speed), 338 Federal (thump), and 30-06 (do-all). I'd probably really like the 35 Whelan but haven't bought one yet.

My first introduction to the creedmoor was about 4 years ago when an electrician I hired told me of his 2 800 yard head shots on 2 different bucks, the 2nd being illegal. He claimed no other round is able to do that. The more he said the less I thought of him as shooter or hunter. I highly doubt all of what he said. What disturbs me the most is the gullable people that think owning that caliber replaces marksmanship and common sense. In an interview Ed Weatherby was asked what his dad would have to say about long range shooting. He replied they should buy a .300 weatherby magnum. I mentioned that to this 800 yard marksman and he was convinced Roy was wrong. Okay.

The problem with the 6.5 Creedmore is that it's inherently gay.

l told my pap and mam I was going to be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. Make your life go here. Here's where the peoples is. Mother Gue, I says, the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world, and by God, I was right.

That's a myth, but based on a truth. The reality is that Creedmoor shooters are prone to take dick, and in every hole.

It truly is a great cartridge for the right individual. My wife loves hers. My son jumped right from the 243 to the 308. Those of us in the know understand why.

It has really gotten so bad that I have divested myself of all three of the 6.5 Creedmoors I had previously enjoyed.

I know that sounds extreme, but in casual conversation with some decent, educated rifle loonies I'd mention my Creedmoors. The look of abject fear on their faces said it all. A good chat would come to an uncomfortable close. They'd switch topics. They'd pull out their cell phones and pretend they had an urgent text. A look on their face would say "Dear God, please don't let this guy talk to me."

I was standing at the gun counter in Cabelas asking to see the Tikka T3X in 6.5 Creedmoor. The counter clerk immediately begins telling me about what an awesome 1000 yard caliber it is. I asked him if there seemed to be a lot of demand in our area for 1000 yard deer rifles. He was prepared. He mentioned a few power lines and gas lines a couple parishes away, saying that with a good Vortex Strike Eagle you could dial the drop right in to connect. I asked how much a 140 grain bullet would drift in a 10 MPH crosswind over the course of the 1000 yard flight. He he stuttered and stammered a bit before muttering something unintelligible, then turned his attention to a skinny jeans wearing 20 something year old with a Grizzly Adams beard and a man bun who had walked up and stood close enough that his flannel shirt was touching me. Their conversation started with Mr. man bun remarking that he had heard the 6.5 Creedmoor was the flattest shooting round ever developed. That was months ago. They are probably still talking.

It's everywhere. The lunacy is pervasive and contagious. Last night on Facebook my bud posted a pic of a 3 shot group he'd fired with his new 257 Weatherby. He had sighted it in 2 inches high at 100. Never mentioned what bullet, what bullet weight, whether or not it was a handload or what velocity. Not that it really matters relative to the Creedfag's comments that followed. Here are the Creedmagic fan club member's comments for you to enjoy.

"2 inches high at 100 yards would make it way high at 300 yards. Should have bought a 6.5 creedmoor"

My bud responded by posting a trajectory table with a 200 yard zero. That elicited this this jewel:

"I have shot mine over 1000 yards. Not worried about ballistics."

The guy was serious too. Sadly his affliction is not at all uncommon. I can only pray that the cockweasles don't start rallying around the 6.5 PRC.

I feel the same way about...shoes/boots in the Wilderness.
