I have AVG free on everything. I am happy.
It does quite often tell me I need buy the full version for better protection.

I haven't had any Anti-Virus to fail me in 5 years.
I hate windows with a passion, they should provide you protection for their inferior software.

I haven't had any Anti-Virus to fail me in 5 years. I haven't either, and figure there to be an RCH in difference 'tween them, but figgered worth consulting the 'fire cognescenti!

Disk image. Good backups. Pizz on AV software, I always said they are the virus most times.

I'm running Malwarebytes free version on my Apple. Which supposedly doesn't need it anyway.

uBlock Origin is the best ad blocker for Windows. I used Avast! and Malwarebytes (both the free version) as anti-malware.

Just keep saying yes to all the programs marketed with the laptop you bought. I bought/loaded Office365 and McAfee for a price. The software went on without a hitch and it updates and works in the background. The manufactures put a lot of work to make it a silent process, or you can whine about Microsoft software that was not installed properly.
