When you buy a Primo or Big Green Egg, it is going to last you the rest of your life. You get what you pay for. Before you buy, in light of the lifetime investment it represents, look at this video. Only the Primo and BGE passed the kiln test.

That’s what we have. Bought on an end of season clearance for like $250. Have only grilled on it. No low and slows. Googling gives lots of tips on how to seal it up for better air control. Air control is what is required for low and slow.

My BGE is 20-25 years old. Fire box finally cracked; they gave me a new one. No questions asked. Best investment I have ever made.

My suggestion is:

Buy two
One BGE type
One pellet grill

Then watch which one gets used all the time.

And don't tell me you're a poor broke rancher.
You can afford it.

Pit Boss 24” is a good smoker for the price. You can get accessories for it that make it much better. The Komodo Kamado is a ripoff. They fall apart faster than the cheaper grills. Dennis the owner of Komodo Kamado is a snake salesman.

Pretty much everyone here knows I'm a BGE fan, so you know where my vote goes. Lots of good reviews and anything else you would ever want to know about ceramic cookers on this website.

This should not be overlooked, its common your grill will be subjected to a cook cycle inside a kiln.

Okie,
What is that device on your egg? The silver thing between the firebox and lid?

Different strokes for different folks but BGE for me. Zero complaints - my son will probably inherit it some day.
