The safest and bestest choice is the RCBS ChargeMaster or ChargeMaster Lite.

Alpine, curious what you mean by safest.

Bu that I mean one that will be reliable.
The different brands I have seen in use seem to all throw accurate charges.

The Chargemaster scale will drift up to 0.3 grains over an hour or two session. I finish every load on a beam with the Omega trickler which has its own quirks, but is far better than a Chargemaster by itself. https://dandyproductsllc.com/products/dandy-2-speed-electric-powder-trickler

I've observed "zero" drift a time or two with my Chargemaster. That's why I push the ZERO button every fifth or tenth charge. I believe it is effective.

I have the Chargemaster and really like mine. Let it warm up for a few minutes and I have had very few issues. Don't forget to close the powder gate on the side before the next use (don't ask me how I know)

I really like my Chargemaster Lite and it has pretty much replaced my manual powder measure, especially for load development. I have found that if I let the unit warm up for 30 to 45 minutes before using it, I run into fewer “drift”issues. It does, however, have a problem with superfine ball powders like Hunter and Big Game. I get overcharges with those. It does great with 760 and the larger ball powders and the extruded powders though.
If you were going to throw a large number of the same weight charges, it’s faster to use a powder measure. If you’re going to work up a load, however, and change powder weight charges every 3, 5 or six rounds, then the automatic powder dispenser is much much faster. At least for me. The cut off point seems to be about 25 charges or so. For me, more than 25 of the same charge and it’s faster to use the volumetric measure. YMMV.

I recently bought a Chargemaster. I've loaded about 250 rounds so far. Accuracy is pretty consistent. I did have a few rounds I had to re-drop but the number was small. Overall I'm pretty happy with it.
BTW I believe the RCBS rebate is still in effect.

I just bought a Hornady Auto Charge-- got a good deal at Natchezz.
Is it a Chargemaster no. However, I got it shipped to me for $185..
I twiddled with it, and managed to get 10 loads of 47 grains of H4895 without an over in a very short time. For my uses, that's about all I need to ask of it for now.

My nephew has one, and I watched it run. Overcharges as often as not.

Chargemaster here too. Does just what I need it to do. But not trying to set any world records, just a mildly picky hunter.

I have had the chargemaster for a few years and like it a lot. I have found that the longer you let it warm up the better. I usually wait at least 30 minutes.

I agree with this. I've had my Chargemaster 1500 for close to ten years now. Had a little problem with charge weights getting screwy about a year ago as as the warranty has run out bought the Chargemaster Lite. I was screwy right from the start, same problem. did a little research and change out the lighting in the shed where I do my reloading from fluorescent to LED with only minor improvement. Then I read where cell phones and WiFi signals can affect digital scales. I left the cell phone in the house and now both systems are working as they should. Digital scales and smart phones apparently do not get along. Paul B.
