Just got back from my Coues Hunt to learn that MD is approaching middle age! So Happy Birthday John! I believe I’m six and a half years your senior and hope that when you are my age they have invented much lighter weight 15x binos, tripod adapters and tripods. Also be aware that all mountains are increasing in slope and height!

Yep! Am now 68.

Actually, am not having to take too much more time to go up mountains. Instead am noticing it's lot harder to get back down with larger dead things--one reason I've become more fond of deer hunting than elk hunting, and pheasant hunting than deer hunting.

Downhill with a load on seems to remind a guy how old his knees are. This year I packed out three elk (with lots of help from my 21 year old son with elk 2 and 3). Luckily it was flat ground, not far from the truck, but exceedingly thick forest with lots of logs to cross.

Happy Birthday John!

Happy belated, John! I've got you by a year. Shot a big doe yesterday. Drove the truck down the field and my son and my brother helped load it, although I was in the truck pulling the head and shoulders in. No sense getting blood spilled on my boots. wink

I saw the title and thought it meant Bullet Drop. Sorry I missed this.

Happy Birthday, I been reading your stuff about thirty years or more and am glad you are still writing.
