My hunting buddy has an AR in 7.62 and he uses it exclusively for deer hunting.
It's a flat top with the front sight and the sight is visible through the scope.

Is there any harm in clipping the front sight off with a hack saw?

I'm not an AR guy so I'm not eager for a gas block project and I know his vision needs all the help it can get.

I used a sawzall to cut the tower off.

My only "pro tip" is to remove the scope before you do that - the vibration will destroy all lesser scopes and many greater ones as well.

Thanks for the information, especially the "take the scope off first reminder!
The scope is a 1.5-6 and we're in the trees so the scope is dialed low and the front site is a distraction.

Thanks!
