Ever had a fried bologna sandwich?

I've been eating bologna sandwiches ( when I was still working) for well over 50 years, and just had my first FRIED bologna sandwich!

Darn, it was GOOD! It reminded me of the taste of a hotdog sandwich.

I first heard about these on the Longmire series. Chance Gilbert was fixing them.

Anyone else enjoying these?

Been eating them for over 50 years. Add sautéed onions and you have yourself a poor mans steak sandwich.

add a fried egg and a slice of cheese on each side and you have an all star breakfast sandwich which I sometimes have for dinner and supper.

Yeah
I've always called it fried even though
it's not so much fried as browned.
Goes in a dry hot skillet for a couple
of minutes on each side.
Toasted white bread with yellow mustard.

Piling on stuff just takes away from the
flavor. People do that these days for
whatever reason

For 65+ years here on toast with Gulden’s Spicy Brown Mustard, Wise Potato Chips and a good dill pickle. Important to slice the edge in a couple spots so the Bologna doesn’t curl up.

Always seems greasy.

Sometime get the deli girl to chip you bologna.
Weird, but it tastes different cut thin.
A friend told me that, though "BS".

It's true.

We called bologna "jumbo" for some reason when I grew up. Ate a lot of it because we were poor.

They... don't do fried bologna in Oregon?

Not being facetious, genuinely shocked that fried bologna is not a thing there.

Been decades but I sure liked it. Seem to recall cutting the edges to keep it from buckling...

Get some whole bologna, slice it about a quarter of an inch thick, then fry it up and make a sandwich. Good stuff!

Somewhere I saw bologna smoked. Looked fantastic. Can only imagine what it would taste like smoked then fried.

Thick sliced from the German deli. Fried up on a bun. Nothing on it. Delicious.
