W.W. Winship cases.. We know they made the late combination kit cases.

But.. I've often wondered whether they maybe make the early cases as well?

They were in Utica as early as 1914. That doesn't mean they made the earlier cases, but it is evidence that they were around.

Headquartered in Boston, but with factory #2 in Utica.

I've got all kinds of pins, badges and Savage memorabilia that are marked Utica.
I suspect Savage used local suppliers as much as possible for things like this.
That plus the letterhead states "sample work of every description, sample trunks and cases..."
Seems to fit.

W.W. Winship had been in Utica since the 1870's at least - found a newspaper article congratulating an employee for working for them for 51 years in 1929. In the 20's they were on Bleecker Street, which I think is where Savage was as well.

Yea, Bleeker is adjacent to the Savage factory.
Must have been some rowe housing on Bleeker as well. Numbers of Savage employee addresses were Bleeker St. at one time or another.
Enoch Tue, W.F. Cobb to name a couple.

KAAY in Little Rock. Underground am radio back in the day.
That's only when I wasn't listening to WLS in Chicago.
