Time to update my GPS.

Currently have a Garmin etrex Vista HCx.

Looking at the Oregon 700.

Anyone using this model? If so thoughts?

Are there better options?

I dis the same about a year ago. The 700 is not that big of upgrade to the 650 for my uses. I'm not putting it down - I sold my Montana to buy a 700. I like them as a basic GPS.

Any issues in the rain with the touchscreen?

I have a Garmin Montana. I got a screen saver from Amazon to cover the touchscreen. It didn't affect the touch a bit and made it more weather/dust resistant. A new screen saver's a lot cheaper than a new screen. They carry screen savers for about every Garmin model.

Forget Garmin. Buy GAIA and put it on your phone.
