I'm curious about this cartridge, if anyone is shooting it. My main question is whether you can use the heavy bullets (160 grain for example) without seating them too deeply given that the cartridge OAL is limited to about 2.800". What kind of velocities are reasonably achievable with a 24" bbl and 160 grain bullets using this cartridge? TIA

I’m with hanco on mine. 140 grain premium bullets will handle most creatures. There’s also some premium 150 grainers if you feel the need. But I have used 130 interbonds, 130 tsx, and 140 accubonds. I also have a few 150 partitions just in case.

My Winchester 70 FWT loves Nosler 140 Accubonds, RL-19 and Fed 215 primers. I average 2968 FPS and less than 1" groups.

There cannot be a better bullet/load that is better on deer than this one.

I had one and I used H1000 powder and 160 grain Partitions. It was an auto, a Berettl R1. It shot just a smidgen over MOA and I killed deer, elk and antelope with it. I sold it to my brother when he asked me to and he's still using it. But have no far about using the 160s. they work great.

I haven't tried 160's but I get 3220 with 145 gr ELD-x and 3100 with 150 gr long range accubonds. Both with submax (1.5 - 2.0 gr below book max) loads of RL 26.

130g NAB's over a book max of MagPro gets me a little over 3300fps. Not quite what the book says. Sako A7S Tecomate. Groups 1/2" tor 3/4" if I do my part.

I had a 270 WSM. Shot a dall sheep and mountain caribou. Used 130 accu bond. I think it’s a great cartridge.

I have a bunch of 130 grain trophy tipped Bear Claws. I’m hoping they shoot well, but the 140 Accubonds will be hard to beat. I use them in a 270 Weatherby also.

I ran one this year. Did a little permit work plus regular season.

I run a starting load of MagPro in my Winchester SS Classic under 110 grain TTSX's.

It's a terminally destructive load...seriously devastating.
