Pyramyd and AoA both have wood stocked Walther Parrus' in stock and cheap.

AoA is $149 for either cal but pricey shipping gets it up around $185
Pyramyd is 179 + shpg for the .177, or $199 w/free shpg for the .22.

I bought the .177 version a while back, mostly because I couldn't find the .22 in stock.
Its a very good rifle. It was made (not just "engineered") in Germany and it shows.
Powerful and accurate, especially with heavier pellets. I'd call the trigger a 7 when I first got it, and it quickly settled into an 8. It is an excellent field trigger, clean at 3 or 4 lbs.
Its probably best as a .22, but I am also liking it in .177

A few more bucks than say a Chinese Ruger from Wal-Mart, and to me thats a no-brainer.

If anyone has a discount code, let me know. I may just buy one in .22 anyway.

I just saw that the plastic stocked .177's are in stock at $150 at Umarex USA too.
Too bad they don't have the .22 version

I ended up buying one in .22 from a pyramyd air for $179 and it included freebies - a tin of RWS super dome pellets and big blast target inflator caps. I got it today but I’m thinking of returning it to PA and getting either a Beeman or Weihrauch.

Kragman: which rifle did you use the coupon on and which supplier did you use - AoA or Pyramid?

I tried it on Pyramid and it said it was invalid, and AoA had no spot for a coupon on its checkout page.

Umarex USA takes the NRA code.
Sorry I wasn't more clear.

Birddog1 - sure, you may want to step up to a Weirauch and the Rekord (who wouldn't?), but its a shame that you won't get to try the Walther. The one I have is really quite good all the way around.
I've been debating buying a .22 for myself but the truth is that I just don't need one. What I need are a couple of specialized scopes, so I'm holding off on a second Walther.

If you have a spring piston please use the correct scope. It will destroy a good Leupold in a few shots if it is one made for cartridge guns and not fully supported both sides of the reticle to account for the double recoil of the piston. Won't matter if it is steel or gas spring. I love springers and use one a bit. Save yourself some money. Good luck with the springers, they are lots of fun. Be Well, RZ.

I know, everything I’ve seen about them appears to be positive. I tried to take it to fedex last night but they quoted me $46 to ship back to PA, which is only an hour north of me. I’m going to call them this morning to discuss the return, maybe they will let me drop it off. Since I only paid $194 (including tax and free shipping) I will keep it before paying that much to return it.

Got a synthetic stock .177 from Pyramyd yesterday with 2 tins of RWS Super Dome pellets and 4 tins of RWS Diablo Basic pellets, and Free Shipping for $158. Scope and rings will be ordered soon. Meant to order RWS Hobby pellets but somehow added the Diablo Sport by mistake.

Thanks for the heads up!

Z1r - mine had some droop so I needed to put a compensated mount on it. I don't recall which one, but make sure yours has a proper round (not pointed) stop pin. Or use SportsMatch rings. And mine likes heavier pellets. Even RWS Supermags at only 9.3 grains make a difference.

Good luck with your new rifle.

Received the airgun today. No chance to do more than unpack it but man does it seem solid! Amazingly fast shipping!

Yeah, its interesting to consider that the Terrus and Parrus are basically Walthers low end rifles.
I just spoke with a tuner who pointed that out to me and doesn't work on them, but recommends the other Walther rifles. The LGVs & LGUs must really be something.

I don't know what the Parrus looks like inside, but despite the low price mine just doesn't feel cheap when you use it.
Smooth to cock, nice shot cycle, accurate.

I'd love to try working one up to see what kind of honest performance they can deliver with an upgraded spring, seal and tune.... Could perform like a low end PCP.
