A neighbor shot a bull moose one year that came in hot to his calls.
It was your basic hit by a train during the winter thing. I saw it when he brought it home, all healed up.
Most of the ribs on one side had been broken, and the lung on that side was grown onto the inside of the body cavity, apparently still working.

The only true cost of having a dog is its death.

That sucks
I cant sign in cause I got the ban hammer from the youtube I've never had an account with youtube and don't intend to, so in the same boat. Same goes for facebook and twitter. But essentially, the deer in the vid is walking like nothing is wrong but missing a backstrap ... like it was freshly carved out with a boning knife.

The amount of pain that deer probably went through had to be insane.

I got a doe I named tater tot that lives by the house.
When she was an orphan yearling she would hang out in the yard.
One time I was in a treestand and a group of does fawns walked by. The wind weren't great so they smelled me and spooked 😳. They got back to feeding about 200 yards away.
Later tater tot walked by, she was a loner.. back then (..still is...just her and her fawn now....the fawn freaks out about her tameness).
She got my scent! Bucked! Grunted and ran over to my tree. She kept carrying on......the herd came back.....
Then right at dark several bucks came in. None of the bucks needed harvested IMO......so I got to sit in the dark quite a while before they all left.
Pretty neat having a resident decoy. When she came into heat this years.....lots of bucks in the yard.

I’ve killed a buck with a .50 cal ball buried in his back straps.
All that mess was festered and yellow fluid all over the deer.
I tossed the whole critter in a ditch
“cfran” wept Still crying.
