Thinking about a 60-70# Hoyt Torrex.

Don't need a flagship bow. Just a deer rig.

Found a like new G5 Prime Rival. 50-60# though. Smokin deal price wise.

Problem is I need a Fletchunter 3D shorty wrist release. And they don't make em no mo. frown

New it looks like Hoyt Torrex of G5's Quest Centec.

Hell if I could find a super clean old Hoyt 2005 Ultra Tec w non Spirals that'd work (esp if in Safari).

Ive been shooting Black Widow recurves off and on since '87. Had compounds too.
Down to only one now, an HS model, 58", and from '91 so its FF rated.
Took me a while to find one, really dig the riser.

But 54# takes work these days. Can't get new limbs for em either.
Am wondering if I should get a new bow at less #, or go with a compound.

Honestly my deer spot sucked so bad this yr, not worth wasting a dime on any new or different gear.
I could almost give up bowhunting.

Or deer hunting all together.

Spent 4 hrs on the TENS unit last night, had to do a couple of em between 4 and 6 AM.

Ordered a release today. Proly get a new Hoyt wheelie.

Back is sore, touchy....not gonna try to unstring my recurve.
And its a 58".

Longer bows are harder to string/ unstring.

Just something to consider.

Torrex is a great bow. Shot them at the local shop when they first came out and was impressed. The XT version was even a bit smoother than the regular Torrex. The XT had a shorter brace height (which I did not care for) but it did have a different feel.

I have always been a fan of Hoyt's cast riser bows. It costs so much to make up dies that they don't take chances on geometry and make a huge pile of them when they make a run. I'm still shooting a Charger from 2013.

I think you will really like it.

Im still not a fan of cast risers....but the Torrex seems less bulky than prev ones.

Since i no longer shoot 3D or indoors, I doubt I wear one out.

Did blow an old PSE mach 4 back in the day though, 82 lbs.
Before they changed the gate and beefed the shelf
Started shooting low at a shoot and had to add yardage.
Gave me a headache too.

Next day to test wth was going on.....pow.

LOL
