Bought it off gunbroker and it hasn't arrived yet, but I used to carry a contender on a single point sling set-up that was quite handy. It was rock solid using a shooting stick and pressing out on the sling. 200yds on a coyote would be a chip shot.

How about a 10.5" barreled AR handgun with a brace?

An AR should fit the bill. A Remington Model 7 or an older Model 600 would too!

Now we’re talkin’. My first choice, actually, but I figger everyone is tired of me pushing them. 20” is more to my taste, though.

Took a couple of weeks (the seller said it would) but my CVA Scout V2 6.5 Grendel arrived. I'm impressed. This is a hefty pistol (5lbs 6oz) and the lock-up feels solid. Trigger is very nice right out of the box. I removed the base, de-greased the screws and reinstalled with loctite then mounted a Vortex Venom I had on hand. I'll eventually install a traditional pistol scope, but I want to sight it in and hunt with it this weekend. Honestly I think these pistols are a steal.

Contender carbine in .223 with an 18-20" barrel.

Much lighter than an Encore.

+1, that's a very light rig with a synthetic stock and a compact scope.

A Contender Carbine with the 16” bbl is the cat’s meow.

Carried one in the tractor for YEARS. Short enough I could whip it out any of the windows to pop any coyote that followed my plow looking for mice and baby rabbits the plow had disturbed. Light as a feather to carry, and super accurate to boot. Several of my nephews shot their first deer with it too.
