I just finished this gate latch bolt.

Any farm gate gadget that helps in the elimination of loops of wire that require a come-along to get over a post is a welcome sight.


Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

I see you have had to open/close one or two of those in your life also.
Then there are those with a stob of wood on wire to give ya almost enough leverage to get the wire loop over the top of the gate post!

I truly miss those days/places!

Louis - it should be mentioned that the "gate" in question is almost always a random collection of crooked branches and barbed wire that instantly tangles itself into a nest when given its freedom, adding to the ecstasy of attempting to get the loop back over the post later.
