Redding dies and moulds!

Wilton vise - had an old 3" Wilton and found a 4" in an estate sale for $35! I go to estate sales looking for Snap-On tools and anything made in the USA! About once every sale or two I come away with treasure...

In no specific order.

This almost doesn't count and should be a given considering your location. When I dropped my son off a couple of years ago at MSU, made the Pilgrimage to Mystery Ranch to look at the new packs being designed/made. Look because I still haven't worn out a couple of original Danas bought in the early 90s. Great folks and company.

Probably Wix. Napa Gold are made by Wix. You can usually tell by the last three to five digits of the filter part number matching Wix part numbers.

It's hard to know who is making the products sold in America these days. Made in America used to mean just that.

For tools like vices, I recently went to all the 2nd hand and antique stores in town to find a clamp on bench vice for my loading bench. When I need things organized or stored, I look for metal boxes and divided boxes instead of Walmart garbage plastic ones. I pick up a lot of metal trays, boxes, dividers for $10 or so for things like tire chains, grease zerks, toolboxes for the trucks, etc. I hate buying plastic anything.

Milwaukie tools have a great repalcement warranty which I've used twice and ended up with brand new M18 tools when the old ones died.

Trust?

Anybody that trusts any company today is a fool.

There are brands that I choose.
Due to reputation or experience.
But them because we have to buy something.
But i have little confidence.

There aren't any brands that you can be certain will give you
a perfect product.

Or totally make it right if they don't.

There are a lot of tools and equipment that i would rather have
old stuff than new. Durability, and designed to be repaired is the attraction.

In the last year I have put about $300 into fixing our washer and dryer.
Maytag from the 1990's.
Nothing outsourced, everything designed to be repaired.
Guys at work made fun if me. In 10 years I will need to replace the
tub bearing again. $120.

If they bought a new machine last year, it would
most likely be junk in less than 10 years.

Trusted Maytag 30 years ago.
Not now.

Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!
