Pitch the decap/sizer stem and use a mandrel die in its place.

Or.....S series bushing dies and pitch the decap/sizer stem again

Make your own concentricity gauge. Four 3/4” ball bearings in a short 2x4 board with a backstop to hold and roll the brass, mount the board to a wide steel plate, and stick a magnetic mounted arm dial gauge on the steel plate close to the board. It’s simple, cheap and effective.

Concentricity of the loaded round is dependent on the tools used.

For a caliber, buy the Lee 4 die ultimate , it has a size die, seating die, factory crimp die, and a collet die. Out of these you will use the collet die and perhaps the crimp die if you are having issues with >ES.

In addition use a Redding body die and a Forester seating die.

The combination of the above yields 0.0005 to 0.0000" run out.

The Lee set up alone ,in my experience, will run 0.001" runout on average.

If that extra 0.0005" means something to you, go with all of the afore mentioned.

I have been quite satisfied with my newly-acquired Hornady. A lot of my fellow campers warned me against it. However, it is good enough to:

a) Convince me that I do not have a serious runout problem with any of my regular loads
b) Make adjustments enough to bring the worst runout problems I have back into proper alignment.

Some folks have more trouble with runout, and I can see where they might want a better system. I got mine on a Flash Sale at Natchez and the price was too good to pass up.

Have any of you had any issues with the Hornady Concentricity gauge?
I have a Sinclair gauge and just recently purchased the Hornady. I liked the idea of being able to straighten some ammo that had some excess runout with the case still under the dial indicator.
I checked some loaded cases with the Hornady gauge and also the Sinclair gauge. They measured as much as .006” difference on the same cases. Not sure why but thinking it has to be case rim is eccentric to the body as the Hornady holds the case at the face in a cone shape. Since the cases were all fire formed and neck sized with a Lee Collet die, I am trusting the Sinclair guage to be correct and true.
Any thoughts?
