I am finalizing the second Campfryer book. I've had less time at the range, despite the good weather because we were shutdown for a while. For that reason, I put together the second of two Campfryer books. I will have more details during the week. There are 26 stories and 18 poems. 221 pgs I think.

Steve;
Good evening to you sir, I hope the day was a fine one for you all.

When you get the specifics all ready, I'll take a copy of that one too please.

Well that's as long as the author signs this one too please. wink

I shall watch and be in touch via etransfer when you get it all ready.

All the best until then Steve.

Dwayne

Will do, Dwayne. Thanks for the interest, guys. This is the second book of outdoor stories.

I am particularly excited about one story called, "Huntin' in Balldrop".

Here's a short background on it. When Ken Howell was still with us, I floated the idea of writing about three well known outdoor writers going on a moose hunting trip to Canada. He was open to having a look, but said it was unlikely that the three men I suggested - Ken, Elmer and Jack - would ever go on a hunt together. He was a friend of Elmer Keith and I think he was concerned how I would handle the Elmer character. I explained that I would not use any last names, and no where did it say that Elmer, Ken and Jack were the three men he assumed they were. Naturally though, he said that he would have to read it before dispensing any advice. I did not know that Ken was ill when we were corresponding, so he may have been grumpy. As a result, I finished the story, but shelved it until now.

Briefly, it is the story of three outdoor writers who travel from the States to northern Ontario for a moose hunt. They meet three local guides, and the six get into some situations while chasing Bullwinkle. They also meet Charlie Cootz, the owner of Cootz Trophy Game Rentals, who rents out stuffed animals. No egos were crushed or anything mean was written about any of the six. It's a humourous story of what happened to them.

When I was designing the cover, I came across a picture that reminded me of Elmer Keith. Big hat. Cigar and sixgun. This is an old photo - not of Elmer - but from what I've read of him, could very well represent a young Elmer living out west. That's the story on the cover photo.

I just received confirmation that a proof copy is on the way. Good news. It will take a few weeks for everything to come together, assuming that the proof is okay. If all goes well, it should be available in early February.

NC,

Whereabouts in Alberta were you from? Some of my family is just outside of Medicine Hat.

I have the first book, 24Hour Campfryer here. If the autograph isn't important, it would be cheaper to order it through amazon. The second one will be available in February..Here's the link to the first book

Thanks for your interest!!

Will do, Mark. Did the first book arrive yet? Since last summer, every book I have sent has taken about three weeks to arrive.

I sent a Shooting &Reloading the 303 British book to a guy who lives three hours away from me. It took two weeks and six days to get there!! Crazy! I am told that COVID protocols are slowing the mail down.

Good morning to you.

It looks like things haven't got back to normal. I mailed it on the 4th, so it should be there this week, or maybe Monday of next week.
