I just picked up a 30" 1100 12 ga bbl, VR and fixed full choke.
Hunted dove w a 26" Imp cyl and steel shot and it worked good on the F&W area (mandated non toxic).
But I found the bbl a bit light and short. was on a 2 3/4 gun.

Think a 28" w chokes proly better, but none around.
Used a 30 way back w lead on a magnum and it cycled 1250 fps stuff. Magnum bbl.

That gun long gone.

Got a diff magnum, for waterfowl. 26" Remchoke magnum bbl wont run steel dove loads.
Gonna test and see if steel dove loads will cycle the 2 3/4" bbl.
If it does, proly have it opened to modified for steel dove rig.

Shop that used to ream chokes back in the day no longer in business.

Found a 28" fixed full choke bbl too, but its kinda dinged/pitted outside. Dunno how well it'd clean up.

If I can't find a local smith to ream my bbl, who should I send it to?

BS... Fixed chokes ARE opened from the breach.. But choke TUBE installs are reamed from the muzzle.. Rem chokes can only be installed IF (a biggie) the barrel OD vs ID are thick enough to do so.. Most are not.. Which is why most installs are Tru-Choke tubes... I have done a bunch of 'em and from what I've gotten back from customers, Carlson's tubes have been stellar...

Don't want Remchoke or Truchokes, wanted a 30" mod bbl for dove w steel.
