Make your own and can it yourself. Same shelf life as the store bought crap. No beans or with beans it don't matter.

Went to college with a guy from Wisconsin, he made chili with elbow macaroni noodles in it. He never heard of chili without noodles. Damnedest thing

This thread got me to check my canned goods stash. Got 2 cans of Hormel chili. One is turkey with beans ( 98% fat free) and one is regular with no beans. Only time I have canned chili is in winter. Haven't had any since last winter. The Hormel stuff is good IMHO. Not as good as a local family owned diners home made stuff but still a good lunch on a cold winter day. Haven't had much winter at all this year so my chili consumption level is down.

I used to dump a can of hormel vegetarian chili in a skillet with deer burger and Vidalia onion. Top with some Tabasco sauce and eat with corn bread. It was good enough to satisfy my white trash pallette.

It's called, "Chili-mac", around these parts. It's been around for a long time, too. I remember it being served in the school lunchroom as a kid.

Never liked it myself but apparently enough people do as some restaurants it's the only kind of chili they offer.

You gotta have a big govt retirement to be able to afford chili with no beans.

Dang right you are sir.

I get to eat beans in the stuff my wife makes though.

Dang Mexican women, beans are here comfort food I think.

Yep. And while it has beans in it, it’s not so many as to make it “mealy”. Stagg is a distant second, Wolf is way back at 3rd, and Hormel is only when faced with death by starvation.

I did a thread on canned chili maybe a year ago. As such, I taste-tested a lot of it. All was without beans. None of it stood out as significantly better than the other.

Ain’t as retarded as having 6 Audie Murphy threads the same old guy in a year. 🤪
