Revisiting this because the metal work is done. Bluer called, said there’s a minor thing to fix on the trigger, but should be on her way soon.
I haven’t done a thing to the wood since I took this but I plan to take an inch off the butt, and I think we are going with a red recoil pad.
I’ll be using laurel mountain forge finish. I’ve had good luck with it in the past

Went with a 1/2 black recoil pad, cut the stock down slightly and then significantly thinned the forend. Got the first coat of finish on last night. Only took me two years to do a couple hours of work. Got a ways to go as you can see how porous the wood is still
