I have a Remington 11-87 12 Gauge that I bought on the forum that is Coming and should be here in a couple of days. The Shotgun has a Cantilevered Fully rifled Barrel on it . I have No use for the Barrel as I don't deer hunt with a shotgun.
Barrel is in great shape .
I would Like to have either an 18.5 Inch or 21 Inch Barrel(Prefer with Rem Chokes ) for my use for the shotgun.
So I would Trade the Cantilevered Fully Rifled barrel for a 18.5 inch to 21 Inch smoothbore Barrel with Rem Choke in great shape.
Much Prefer Face to face to save on cost of shipping .

I was wrong. I tried an 1100 barrel on my 11-87 and it fit . Learn something new every day
Sometimes they will interchange ,depending on the 11-87 forearm . The issue is that the barrel be snug when the forearm is put on .and for the forend to slide on . On the swap occasionally will work but if the don't then either a 1100 forend will need to be used or Modify the 11-87 forend. If the forend will not snug the barrel down then use of a very thin piece of PVC pipe as a spacer will allow the forend to tightly hold the barrel tightly.
Old style Cantilever was about 1 foot long and was thin with a small base sitting on the receiver and were Gloss. New style is short(6" or so), Matte and the base is quite stiff. Yours sounds like the new style as it is Matte. In my experience, I always thought the older gloss barrels were more accurate.
Actually, all the original barrels and deer guns were gloss - I have 2 of them(late 80's -early 90's). Once they changed the Cantilever style, the SP (Matte) barrels and SP style guns came about. I prefer the new style but I love and trust my old Glossies. Living here in NY, I got lucky and had a Bud at the Ilion plant. He was a great source of discounted barrels and guns. Guns that were taken to shows or were shot by gun writers were offered to employees to buy as technically, they were "used". Same went for barrels for shotguns. I have 4 barrels for my SP model 1187 and 3 for my Camo 1187, plus bought barrels for my sons for their guns. Sadly, he left Remington in the early 2000's and ended that pipeline.
Still looking for local trade first ,reason Being is not only cost of shipping but also the long delivery times for any of the carriers at this point in time.
